GALLINE FELICI
The term "consumption" has often taken on a negative connotation, with consumption being perceived as a passive act. Yet this act is based on our choices and I am therefore convinced that it is a real power and that consuming (or not) can be a major vector of change. This can start in the way we eat: there are already many alternatives to mass distribution, ways to buy healthy, quality products that are grown with respect for people and the environment and sold at fair prices. This year in Italy, 6 million people have chosen to buy their groceries through Solidarity Purchasing Groups.
I went to Sicily to meet the members of the Le Galline Felici (Happy Hens)consortium, whose delicious products are currently bought by more than 10,000 families in Europe.
